Our Mentoring Structure

We adopt the virtual activity-based mentoring structure; where a mentor is assigned a group of mentees and the mentees are excepted to carry out a set of task that will enable them develop marketable skills.

In our research of the various forms of mentoring structure that exist  and our experience in conducting mentoring programs we discovered that this model is the most effective for the our target audience(i.e youths). Students are divided into groups and are made to perform different task to enable them develop the basic employability skills.

Each group is made up of a Mentor (s), a Course Advisor, Course Adviser Head and the Mentees. We also have a faculty that train the students on basic employability/life skills. Part of the responsibilities of the Course Advisor is to assist the Mentor and ensure that the mentees carry out their weekly task.

Standard Mentoring Hour

The standard time is at least a 30minutes mentor to mentees session per week but we have mentors who have clocked-in way above the standard time. We have mentors who see themselves as part of a team and are passionate about ensuring that their mentees develop the right competencies. Some of our mentors are not within Nigeria so we have some sessions at odd hours but that’s the beauty of facilitating an online program, neither time non distance is a barrier.

Our Evaluation Process

Another feature that distinguishes our MentorMe4Sucess program from other mentoring programs is our evaluation and recognition system.

In ensuring that individuals who are committed to the program are celebrated and individuals who are not committed are either motivated to improve or exited depending on their performance, we carry out a bi-monthly evaluation of students and mentors.

Our Identity Day Project

The goal of our Identity Day Project is to ensure that every student understands who he/she is and the actions required to achieving their career goals in life. It is a 2-fold presentation where students are required to;

  • Make a video presentation on your area of interest.

  • Create either a “who am I flow chart” or a “vision board highlighting how they will achieve their career goals
